The SailRail forum is an alliance of UK Train and ferry companies operating on the Irish Sea, and Irish Rail. The forum is responsible for through journeys operating on three discrete corridors:
- Stranraer to Belfast the northern corridor
- Holyhead to Dublin/Dun Laoghaire the central corridor
- Fishguard to Rosslare the southern corridor
On the northern corridor, First ScotRail operates connecting rail services between Glasgow Central and Stranraer.
On the
central corridor, Virgin Trains and Arriva Trains Wales offer connections to key destinations in Scotland, the North-West, Midlands and London.
On the
southern corridor, services are provided by First Great Western from London, Oxford and Bristol areas to Swansea, where Arriva Trains Wales provide the link to Fishguard Harbour.
Irish Ferries and Stena Line have both made a considerable investment in new, high-speed vessels which offer an even higher quality of service than before. These have made a major contribution to reducing the end-to-end journey time for a rail and sea journey whilst retaining the unhurried ambience of a cruise.
The mix of catering and entertainment facilities on board meets the differing needs and expectations of our passengers.
- SailRail prices are not subject to booking fees, unlike those offered by low-cost airlines which have additional charges.
